The Sumo Assassin was an unnamed Japanese assassin with a huge build who briefly fought against John Wick. He, along with the Glass Assassin, Leather Assassin, and the Violin Assassin, were the assassins who participated during the hunt for John's bounty after receiving the Administration's bounty message.

John Wick: Chapter 2[]
The assassin was first seen sitting on a park bench with a lady beside him eating noodles when he received a text message about John's bounty by Santino D'Antonio. When he saw John in the park, he slammed him to the ground using his arm. He then took his pistol with a suppressor out from his coat attempting to shoot him but was avoided by Wick. John Wick then attacked him with punches and kicks but the assassin was invulnerable to John's attacks due to his large build. John then kicked the assassin's groin area, which triggered him to get mad. The angry sumo then pushed John into the glass. John quickly recovered and tried to disarm the sumo assassin by grabbing the sumo's hand and snapping it. John then climbed over the assassin and reached to the top of his head. He shot all over him including the top of the head, which took down the sumo assassin. When John stole his gun magazine and was about to leave, John heard the sumo assassins groan. He then finished him off by shooting him in the head again.
