Rina Sawayama is the singer and actress who plays Akira in John Wick: Chapter 4.
History[]
Sawayama was born on 16 August 1990 in Niigata, Japan, where she lived until the age of five, when her family decided to move to London, where she was raised and currently resides. Though she initially had trouble communicating with her teachers and peers due to her inability to understand English, she eventually connected with others through pop music. At the age of sixteen, she began posting music covers on Myspace, and during sixth form she formed a hip hop group called Lazy Lion. Among her musical work, her first single ever released was "Sleeping in Waking" in 2013; some of her most recent hits included "XS," "Hold The Girl," and "This Hell."
Sawayama performed "Eye for an Eye" as part of the soundtrack for John Wick: Chapter 4, with composer Tyler Bates serving as producer and co-writer. A music video was uploaded to YouTube on March 22nd 2023.
