John Wick in Paris

After Vincent Bisset de Gramont punished Winston by destroying the New York Continental and executing Charon, he commanded Chidi to summon Caine for an important reason and then returns to Paris. In the morning, Caine was seen listening to his daughter playing the violin with a crowd of people in the gardens. He then left and was brought by Chidi inside the Palais Marquis de Gramont. While having his dessert, the Marquis then approached Caine and gives him the name of his old friend John Wick as his target. The Marquis also warned Caine that he is too close to his daughter and that he threatens him. Caine then accepts the Marquis' service. Caine, Chidi, and the rest of the Myrmidons were dispatched to the Osaka Continental where John was located which leads to a battle between Koji's men and the High Table.

Back in Paris, in the aftermath of the bloodshed in Osaka, the Marquis de Gramont was seen in a classical equestrian stable, watching women performing equestrian fencing together with fellow High Table agent the Harbinger. The Harbinger stated that the massacre in Osaka was not necessary but Vincent replied that the massacre was the point and a warning of his idea of killing John. In the stable full of horses, Caine and Mr. Nobody sit beside each other. When Chidi calls Mr. Nobody for him to approach the Marquis, Caine warns the Tracker that he must think well before accepting any offer Vincent makes since he twists any deal. Approaching the Marquis, Mr. Nobody discussed a price and a pension, only to have Vincent stab him in the hand and force him to maim himself to get it out as proof of his commitment and a deal to find John for him to receive his bounty.

John then meets Winston back in New York City and travels to Berlin to negotiate the Ruska Roma for him to make a duel with the Marquis. In Berlin, Mr. Nobody as well arrived and calls the Marquis that he found where Wick was. Vincent was in the Palais de Garnier by the time Nobody called him. Vincent then twists once again that not only he must find John but to kill him as well. Furthermore, Vincent tells Mr. Nobody that his deal is for his service while watching a ballerina dancing to classical music in the theater for his entertainment. Following the assault at Killa's nightclub, in which John personally killed Killa to avenge Pyotr and re-enter a High Table family, John was able to make a formal challenge to the Marquis to a duel. Meanwhile, Winston confronts the Marquis in the Louvre Museum, which is filled with classical artworks, and informs him that John has rejoined the Ruska Roma. Winston then requests that if he wins the duel, all of the High Table's expenses including his hotel will be restored. Vincent agreed to have a discussion of the duel rules at La Tour Eiffel. Vincent also tells Winston that if his champion dies, so does the sponsor.

On the day of The Rules of Engagement hosted by the Harbinger, John then arrives at Paris and the location where the discussion of rules was held. He then showed a burning mark to the Marquis and Harbinger on his arm showing proof that he has joined a crime family. After the rules were decided for the duel which is set during sunrise in Sacré Coeur, Vincent requested a nomination, which Caine will be in his position for the duel instead of him. Even though Caine refuses at first, the Marquis threatens him with his daughter that she will be killed if he declines resulting in Caine accepting his nomination. In the church of St. Eustache, John was seen praying in front while Caine was sitting in his back. Both assassins had a conversation about their reasons why there are still doing their job with John about his wife and freedom from the Table and Caine about his daughter. Meanwhile, in the Marquis' headquarters, hours leading up to the duel, the Harbinger met with Vincent again, displeased with how he's handled the situation. The Harbinger warned that Vincent losing the duel will shake the foundation of the High Table and turn John into a saint, but Vincent was convinced that he would win. Before departing, the Harbinger warned Vincent to remember that a man's ambition should never exceed his worth. Hours before the duel, John Wick walks into a subway called La Résistance. There he finally meets The Bowery King and Winston supporting John with his needs before going into the duel. Back in the Marquis' headquarters, Chidi approaches the Marquis and was against his decision of nominating a blind Caine to a duel. The Marquis then explains to him why Caine would fit in and win the duel. Furthermore, Vincent also stated that he has a feeling that John would not be able to make it into the duel which was a command to Chidi to deploy his men and stop John from reaching the duel.

A radio station called WUXIA with the Administration was stationed at the top of the Eiffel Tower. The radio's DJ will inform the Marquis' men where John will be located around the city of Paris. In an underground river in La Résistance, John then tells both the Bowery King and Winston that in his gravestone, "Loving husband" will be written below his name after Winston talks about what he puts on Charon's gravestone. With John reaching the city, The Marquis, determined to win the fight at any cost, raises John's bounty to $40 million and dispatches several of his men, including the Myrmidons and a French terrorist organization known as the La Main Rouge, to assassinate him. John fights the assassins and manages to eliminate them all in the streets and at the Arc de Triomphe. Inside a massive abandoned apartment, John battles the Marquis' men using the Dragon's breath rounds against him. John and Mr. Nobody later encountered inside. After a firefight in the large house, John then reaches a long staircase leading to the Sacré-Coeur, and again, John fights his way up against the Marquis' assassins. After reaching halfway, Chidi and several men encountered John only to be kicked back down to the hundred steps. With 5 minutes remaining till sunrise, Caine arrives to help John. Caine then swaps sides, dispatching several of the Marquis' henchmen with John on their way up the staircase. Later, the Tracker saved John's life by shooting Chidi, Nobody then kills him in retribution for his attempt on his dog's life. Both Caine and John luckily arrived at Sacré-Coeur on time.

When the sunrise duel started hosted by the Harbinger, both sponsors were present as well as Mr. Nobody in the duel. Caine and John were each given a pistol loaded with a single bullet and instructed to take thirty paces apart before firing. They were then handed another round and instructed to take a step closer before firing again. Caine shot John and severely hurt him after they had both been wounded twice and given another round to shoot with. The Marquis then arrogantly replaced Caine and went in to attempt a coup de grâce on John, but John, who had not yet fired his bullet, shot and killed the Marquis with Mr. Nobody laughing at his death and celebrating. Caine no longer had to fear for his daughter's safety. John and Caine's commitment to the Table was relieved, as promised by The Harbinger. Caine emotionally approaches his old friend John and thanked him. With severe wounds around John, he asked a favor to Winston to take him home with Winston emotionally agreed. After the events in Paris, John died with the epithet on his gravestone displaying "Loving Husband" beside his wife's gravestone. Back in Paris, Caine brought flowers and later approaches his daughter playing the violin until Akira approaches Caine discreetly, attempting to kill him for revenge after the death of her father Koji. The following scene was never shown what happened next.
