Francis (Russian: Фрэнсис) is a former bouncer under the employment of Viggo Tarasov who was stationed outside the VIP entrance of the Red Circle. He was also a former acquaintance of John Wick, who chose to spare his life.

Working for Viggo[]
Francis was a tall, muscular man who worked for Russian crime lord Viggo Tarasov as a bouncer for the VIP entrance to his nightclub, the Red Circle. Having both worked for Viggo, Francis had been previously acquainted with the assassin John Wick at some point in the past.
John Wick[]
Francis was working the VIP entrance to the club on the night that John infiltrated it to kill Iosef Tarasov, Viggo's son, in retaliation for murdering his dog Daisy. He first greeted Victor and his associates as they entered the club through the VIP entrance, before standing idly outside enjoying a smoke. This allowed John to get the drop on him, pointing his gun directly at the back of his head. John cordially greeted Francis after a long time, and complimented him on his apparent weight loss (in reality a code for asking how many guards are in the club). Realizing that he didn't have to kill Francis, John offered the bouncer a way out by suggesting he "take the night off". Removing his earpiece, Francis turned to face John, who lowered his weapon, and graciously thanked him for his act of mercy, before accepting his offer and walking away.
